Terms of use

These terms explain how you may use SRD PayDay and what you can expect from our independent information.

Last updated: 29 October 2026

SRD PayDay is an independent information website about the SASSA SRD R370 grant. We are not SASSA, the Department of Social Development, or any government body. We have no partnership with them.

By using the site at https://srdpayday.co.za, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Using the site

The site is free for your personal use and information. You may read and print pages, and use our tools for your own grant questions.

You may not copy the site wholesale, scrape it, republish large parts, sell its content, or use it to mislead people. You may not break or interfere with the site or harm other visitors.

The status explorer, troubleshooter, date finder, appeal calculator, eligibility checker and means test run only in your browser and send nothing. The homepage status-check form is different.

Our privacy approach follows POPIA, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. The site loads the Lexend font from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address and browser details to deliver it. Our hosting and CDN provider may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address, time, page, and browser, for security and performance. Learn about your rights at the Information Regulator: https://inforegulator.org.za.

Using the status check

The homepage status-check form has two fields: your 13-digit South African ID number and the cellphone number used for your SRD application. A button checks the status.

Only check your own status, or with the person's permission. Do not misuse or automate the form. It may be unavailable when SASSA's system is busy. Check the official portal instead: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status.

The ID number and cellphone number are sent over a secure (HTTPS) connection to SASSA's official SRD system only to fetch the status the visitor asked for. The result is shown on the visitor's screen and is not kept. We do not store, log, sell or share the ID number or cellphone number, and we do not use them for anything else (no marketing, no profiles). We never ask for a PIN, OTP, password or bank details, and never ask for money.

Accuracy and changes

We work to keep our information correct and current. We use official sources such as srd.sassa.gov.za, SASSA statements on gov.za, and National Treasury. Pages show an Updated date and a page history.

We check facts when SASSA announces changes, and at least once a month. Even so, rules and dates can change. Official SASSA information always overrides ours. Please read our disclaimer for more about this.

Intellectual property

We own the text and design of this site, unless we say otherwise. You may link to our pages. You may quote a short part with credit and a link back. You may not copy or republish our content as your own.

SASSA, the Department of Social Development, and other government names and marks belong to their owners. We use them only to describe the grant and to point you to official help. Their use here does not mean they endorse this site.

Limitation of liability

We provide this site for general information. We do not give legal, financial, or government advice. We do not promise that every page is free from errors or always available.

To the extent allowed by South African law, SRD PayDay is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from your use of the site, or from your reliance on its information. This includes indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.

South African law and changes to these terms

South African law applies to these terms and to your use of the site. If any part is found to be invalid, the rest will still apply.

We may update these terms when the site changes or when the law changes. The Last updated date at the top shows the latest version. Please check this page now and then. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.
