Who is responsible for your information
SRD PayDay operates this site at https://srdpayday.co.za and is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). South African law applies. Contact us at hello@srdpayday.co.za.
We are an independent information website about the SASSA SRD R370 grant. We are not SASSA, the Department of Social Development, or any government body. We have no partnership with them.
This policy explains what personal information may be involved, why we use it, and your rights. Personal information can identify you.
The status check form
Our homepage has a status check form. It asks for your 13-digit South African ID number and the cellphone number used for your SRD application. A button checks your status.
The ID number and cellphone number are sent over a secure (HTTPS) connection through our servers (Cloudflare, and Google Cloud in South Africa) to SASSA's official SRD system, only to fetch your status. Your IP address is passed along with the request to protect the service from abuse.
The result is shown on your screen and not kept. We do not store, log, sell or share the ID number or cellphone number. We keep only anonymous counts (for example whether a check worked, the country and the network), with no ID number, cellphone number or name. We do not use them for anything else (no marketing, no profiles).
Under POPIA, our legal basis is your choice to submit these details to get your status. Processing is limited to that purpose. SASSA's SRD system receives them. They are discarded after the result is shown.
We never ask for a PIN, OTP, password, bank details or money. Only check your own status or with permission.

What we collect
The status check form asks for your ID number and cellphone number used for your SRD application. We send them to SASSA's SRD system only to fetch your status. We do not store, log, sell or share them.
This static site has no accounts or logins. Our other tools including the status explorer, troubleshooter, date finder, appeal calculator, eligibility checker, and means test run only in your browser and send nothing. We never ask for your PIN, OTP, password, bank details or money.
If you email us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to answer you.
Our hosting or CDN provider may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address, time, page and browser, for a limited period for security and performance.
We load the Lexend font from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details. We do not set cookies at present; cookies may be used only if ads are enabled.
Why we use this information and our legal basis
For the status check form, you choose to submit your details to get your status. Under POPIA, processing is limited to that purpose.
We use logs and the font request to keep the site secure. Our legal basis is legitimate interest in running a safe useful site. We do not build profiles.
If you email us, we use your details to reply based on legitimate interest. We keep emails only as long as needed.
Third parties and cookies
SASSA's SRD system receives your ID number and cellphone number only to fetch your status. We do not store, log, sell or share them.
Hosting or CDN logs cover security and performance. Google processes the font request. If we show Google AdSense ads in future, Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure them.

Keep your details safe. We never ask for your PIN, OTP, password, bank details or money. Never share them with anyone who contacts you about SRD. Children
This site is for adults applying for the SRD grant. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information. If you believe a child sent us information, email hello@srdpayday.co.za.
Your POPIA rights
Under POPIA, you can ask us to:
- confirm what personal information we hold about you and give you access to it;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete information we no longer need or may not keep;
- object to how we use your information.
You can complain to the Information Regulator at https://inforegulator.org.za. Contact us about your rights at hello@srdpayday.co.za. We may need to confirm who you are before we act. We will not ask for your PIN or OTP.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the site or the law changes. We will change the last updated date at the top. The new policy applies from that date. We also keep a page history.
